Help Portrait Day 2012

Help-Portrait is a worldwide movement. It is a collaboration of photographers, hair/makeup artists, and general volunteers that come together to provide the unique experience of a professional photo shoot for the less fortunate in the community. Help-Portrait is about 'giving' rather than 'taking' photographs of individuals and families who may not otherwise have the opportunity. A huge thank you to all volunteers, sponsors, participants and supporters for making our first Help Portrait day an amazing and memorable experience!

On October 19^th our W Project Event took place, it was a morning filled with inspiration and motivation from our keynote speakers, Paola Gianturco, Barb Stegemann and Sami Jo Small. Emceed by Jennifer Ettinger, the morning of inspiration was the launch of our W Project Campaign, designed to channel support from all areas of our community to create safer and healthier lives for women in York Region.

The event was a huge success and the first step in raising our goal of $100,000.

We would like to thank Paola, Barb and Sami Jo for honoring us with their touching stories, providing everyone with a sense of empowerment and motivation to make a difference. Thanks also to Jennifer who, as always, with grace and style hosted the morning to a flawless finish.

Finally, thank you and recognition to, Chan Khamphoomee and Stephen Plumley for their continued involvement and support.
We continue to develop our W Project Campaign and help women to become sustainable within our community.
